This elegant bronze aftercast from artists Hippolyte-Francois Moreau (French, 1832-1917) sculpted the hunter and Prosper Lecourtier (French, 1851-1924) sculpted the dogs. Its title in the original French is Piqueur au Relais. Its flawless casting and exact detail to the original is for the most serious collector. The sculpture depicts a French huntsman of the Louis XV period out in the field flanked by his two bloodhounds. His bugle is about to sound the clarion call to commence the hunt. It is stamped HIP Moreau and LeCourtier
