When David Spellerberg, President of Art of Bronze, answered the phone, he immediately knew he wasn’t speaking with the average customer. This gentleman wasn’t looking for just another sculpture—he was searching for a statement piece. His vision was to complete his spectacular ranch outside of Salt Lake City with one final, unforgettable work of art.
His choice was the monumental “End of the Trail,” inspired by the iconic sculpture by James Earle Fraser. Standing approximately 8½ feet tall and depicting the weary Native American warrior slumped over his horse, this legendary bronze sculpture has become one of the most recognized images in American Western art. It perfectly complemented the rugged beauty and expansive landscape of his ranch.
Transporting more than 1,200 pounds of bronze is no small task, but our customer was more than ready for the challenge. To simplify the logistics, Art of Bronze arranged to meet him halfway between our locations. There, we carefully transferred the sculpture from our delivery truck onto his trailer for the final journey home.
With the proper equipment already waiting at his ranch, he personally positioned this monumental bronze masterpiece in its permanent location. Watching such an ambitious vision become reality is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
