Art of Bronze was honored to work with Gordon State College to create this beautiful bronze red stag elk sculpture for their campus in Barnesville, GA. This was a special school mascot creation in which Art of Bronze modified the antlers to better represent a red stag. Red Stags have the largest antlers in the world relative to their body size.
The statue was installed on a concrete stand in front of the Gordon State College Student Activity and Recreation Center. An engraved plaque sits prominently in the front of the statue which displays the name of the late Alan R. Giles donor to the Memorial Stag statue.
In 2022, Gordon State College revealed the new symbol of strength, pride and the Power of WE theme that will guide the institution’s progress for years to come. The stag, transformed into a spirit mark, is a nod to Gordon State’s rich history and represents the dedication to excellence in academics, inclusion and commitment of the mission.
