Art of Bronze is honored to offer “Horse Wrangler,” a striking bronze sculpture inspired by the legendary Western artist Charles M. Russell.

Originally modeled in 1924, this masterful recreation pays homage to one of the great storytellers of the American frontier. “Horse Wrangler” captures a quiet yet powerful moment—a lone cowboy astride his trusted steed, surveying the rugged land around him. The horse, head lowered in a moment of rest, mirrors the cowboy’s calm and steady demeanor, creating a scene rich with realism and emotion.

Every detail in this bronze sculpture has been rendered with expert craftsmanship and historical accuracy. From the authentic Western saddle and reins to the coiled rope draped across the rider’s gear, each element tells a story of life on the open range. The folds in the cowboy’s clothing and the texture of the horse’s musculature highlight the skilled artistry that makes this piece a standout addition to any Western art collection.

This is not a simple reproduction, but a high-end after-cast meant for true connoisseurs of Western heritage—collectors who value the legacy of Charles Russell and the spirit of the American cowboy. Whether displayed in a ranch estate, a Western-themed lodge, or a fine art gallery, this sculpture brings the romance and grit of the Old West into the present day.

Charles Marion Russell (1864 – 1926), also known as C. M. Russell and “Kid” Russell, was an American artist of the American Old West. He created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Native Americans, and landscapes set in the western United States and Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. Known as the “cowboy artist,” he was also a storyteller and author. He became an advocate for Native Americans in the west, supporting the bid by landless Ojibwa to have a reservation established for them in Montana. In 1916, Congress passed legislation to create the Rocky Boy Reservation (named after Ahsiniiwin, the chief of the Ojibwa band, who had died a few months earlier).

In 1955, Russell was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Russell collections can also be found at the Montana Historical Society in Helena, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas. His 1912 mural “Lewis & Clark Meeting Indians at Ross’ Hole” hangs in the House Chambers of the Montana Capitol in Helena.
