The “Eternal Springtime” bronze statue was originally created by the French Artist Auguste Rodin in 1884. It was created at the same time as The Gates of Hell and originally intended to be part of it. He later decided to not include it there because the happiness expressed by the lovers didn’t seem appropriate to the theme.
The famous “Eternal Springtime” features two nude figures embraced in a kiss. The woman arches her torso in willful surrender to her partner, who bends at his ease to kiss her. The man is posed on the edge of a rocky mound, crossing his legs, his left arm gracefully suspended by a cloud.
This scaled-up, large, version possesses an air of weightless and floating quality, which makes it a perfect ode to springtime love in your garden! It is cast in the ‘lost wax’ process and hand finished in a custom patina coloring. It is suitable in any garden setting, park, playground, front or backyard.
