Art of Bronze was honored to create this life-size bronze memorial statue commemorating the life and service of Nathan ‘Hayden’ Heidelberg. Officer Heidelberg was killed in the line of duty on March 5, 2019, at the age of 28. A dedicated field training officer, he served with the Midland Police Department for five years and was remembered for his commitment, professionalism, and service to his community. In September 2019, his family was presented with the prestigious Star of Texas Award in recognition of his sacrifice.
Creating this memorial required countless hours of research, sculpting, and refinement to accurately capture Officer Heidelberg’s likeness and professional appearance. Exceptional attention was devoted to the intricate details of his uniform, including the valor pin, stop stick, nametag, badge, and FTO patches. His duty belt was faithfully recreated with the radio, firearm, handcuff case, baton holder, and mace holder, ensuring the memorial reflected both authenticity and respect.
Today, this bronze monument stands on permanent display at the Midland Police Training Range in Midland, Texas, where it serves as a lasting tribute to Officer Heidelberg’s courage, dedication, and sacrifice. More than a sculpture, it is a place of remembrance where fellow officers, family members, and community supporters can reflect upon a life devoted to protecting others.
